  1. United Nations’ International Day of the World’s Indigenous People or World Tribal Day is annually observed on 9 August across the world to promote and protect the rights of the world’s Indigenous population and to raise awareness of the need to improve the economic, social and cultural situation of these people. This day also recognises the achievements and contributions that Indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection. The theme of International Day of the World’s Indigenous People 2023 is “Indigenous Youth as Agents of Change for Self-determination”.
  2. Nagasaki Day is annually observed across the globe on 9 August to create awareness about the hazards of nuclear weapons and to promote peace among nations.
  3. The Bihar Government will constitute ‘Rhino Task Force’ for suggesting measures for the reintroduction of rhino conservation scheme in Valmiki Tiger Reserve in West Champaran district.
  4. Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar assumed charge as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command at a Ceremonial Parade held at the Naval Base in Vizag city.
